First CMS i tried was Nucleus, didn’t work out as expected. Couldn’t do any modification thus I consulted Xlanz for his idea. He proposed me using MAMBO CMS. Good and great CMS but it doesn’t comply with the standards. I finally search for another Blog System or Publishing System. Ryan was using MT and i tried it, have to installed it myself and it felt good. i finally installed MT and running it for a couple of months before i decided to tear everything down.
Then, i decided i still prefer a CMS running on PHP instead of CGI coz’ everytime i wanted to post something, i need to compile. Sick of it. End of the day, i’m back with Nucleus again. So, there I’ve recap the year of 2004 - where hizecool begins.
Apart of it, my hostee azlan is quite pissed off when i tear down everything on my hosting including his blog. I got him the mambo back but i’m not sure if he still wanted to blog anymore. On the other hand, those hostee are gone and i have the hosting for my own. ![]()
As for my personal life, 2004 is a pilot year whereby I finally out from college and into the working society. I would say it’s the year where i’m indebted to the bills. Phone bills, electricity bills, utility bills and car loans as well as TAR College loans. Blek~ My first job pay was good MYR 1600 excluding EPF and SOCSO. It was during internship under MSC Flagship - Talent Development MDC. With my second job as IT executive, it’s killing me with the salary of MYR 1300, after tax - MYR 11XX.XX. A lot of my friends encourage me to seek for a higher pay job. I’m waiting for the confirmation - and hopefully an increase of salary by MYR 400 - making it MYR 1700 raw. Doubtfully it would happen but at least I dare to hope. Here’s some summary of what’s what in my life in 2004:
^Health
There’s nothing wrong with me - a few sickness on and off. I can’t stand fatigueness.
^Wealth
Trying my best to accumulate wealth and avoid being trapped with bills. Still indebted with bills when i writing this.
^Career
I’m not in the mood of climbing corporate ladder at the moment. But during my internship as Asst. Network Engineer, i’m blessed with a good manager, Mr. Zow Hua Ern. He’s the nicest person i ever meet when I work in the company. He taught me a lot and I would consider him as my mentor in Telecommunication and Networking. Working in eB greatly expose me to the society. How everyone struggle to keep their head above water.
^Friendship
Made a lot of friends in eB. Each and everyone is kind and friendly. There’s always seems to have conspiracy theory about the CEO and COO. I guess that what makes the friendship and esprit-de-corp exist among us, the eB staff.
As for my coursemates, keeping in touch in the 1st year isn’t easy… everyone is busy working. Some aren’t in Malaysia and they are scattered around the states. However, i do believe that if each of us try the best to keep the 4 years of friendship alive.. we can finally make it happened. I still wanted to have an end year dinner with the rest of the gang.
Primary schoolmates gathered few times this year. Kind of a good sign. At least when we meet up with Josepha Lim, he’s kinda good in bragging and entertaining enough. Whatever he say whether consist of truth or lies, it doesn’t matter.
Setapakians are a bit tough on this one. Gathering would be hard coz’ they have their own clique. We will see how it goes.
^Love
Nil.
^Family
Doesn’t feel like to reveal.
I would embrace the year 2005 with more anticipation. I see that the road lies ahead are long and winding. Tough times never last, tough people do.
This Christmas season is very exciting. My first time enjoying Christmas season during working. One of the department - Publication team invited me to join their gift exchange on 23 Dec but I took leave on that day. When i look back at their photo, it’s fun alright.
Anyway, this year Christmas… it reminds me of the past few years Christmas celebration that i ever had. One of it was the time i was small when my uncle took me to one of the hotel to celebrate christmas. We have to look for the present that was hidden. :p but that was quite long but it remain fresh in my mind so far. Partly because my sister and i pull of the mickey mouse tail of him.
Most of my colleagues get soft toys as Christmas present. Looking at it, it reminds me one of the soft toys i got for christmas. A PIG! Other time was last year when it was my final year. We wanted to go countdown and Eric didn’t join us at all. He was with Wennie, omit me, vit ping and sam.
Yesterday I met up with Mr. W to share something with him. I learned that he quit from his previous job - my previous company as well. He didn’t reveal the exact reason why he wanted to quit but i felt partly because of the management where decided to kick him out. Mr. W were in military before and he have self-discipline. He used to work in TIME and Jaring - top sales achiever. When he was moving at the peak of the job, there are 2 person approach him and invited him to join the business of broadband . They offered him a share of the company and make a lot of promises. However, after 2.5 years of commiting for the company, he ended up like this. Losing something but i see he did gain something in return. Moreover, the meet-up session with him was fruitful for me as he did taught me a lot of things i would never hear him share to me in the old company.
i’m wondering if he will ever drop by my website but i’ll say is .. Best Wishes and Good Luck.
“Gary Schare, Microsoft’s director of product management for Windows, has been assigned the unenviable task of explaining how Microsoft plans to respond to the Firefox challenge with a product whose features were last updated three years ago. He has said that current users of Internet Explorer will stick with it once they take into account “all the factors that led them to choose I.E. in the first place.” Beg your pardon. Choose? Doesn’t I.E. come bundled with Windows?”]]>
There are several ways to look at it. First, the company got him a car. Kancil 660 which turn out better than nothing. His brother and his gf are working in the same company as him. What else can be worse? Of course, since three of them are working for this company and if i were the employer, i would find ways to keep them loyal to me. One of it would be his need. His need to have a transport like a car to replace his old mean of transportation:kapchai ( local slang for 125
A logical analysis reveals that a typical employee salary cannot exceed 3k especially if they are new (less than 5 years exprience) Therefore, the only way to increase his income was through bonuses. A smart employer will know that bonuses given or allowance will be spend since it’s liquid based commodity. If I were to buy him a car and drag the installment of the car for 7 -9 years, that means he will have to stay with the company as long as the installment takes so he can owned the car once the car is paid off. Thus, that means instead of providing him more allowances, we get him a car and under company name… 1. it increase the company assets in accounting terms. 2. it’s another way to redirect the allowance to his pocket but using the allowance to pay for the car (almost the same thing) 3. it’s a win-win situation.
In dale’s dictionary, it means “SLAVERY” - the end

After a struggle, i finally decided to complete my site revamping and using nucleus. I still prefer PHP-based CMS although i do admit, MT is one of the best publishing system i ever used.
Still undergo the process of revamping so you won’t see much from me. That’s all atm. ]]>
