2004 Recap

Understanding Me, Myself

First CMS i tried was Nucleus, didn’t work out as expected. Couldn’t do any modification thus I consulted Xlanz for his idea. He proposed me using MAMBO CMS. Good and great CMS but it doesn’t comply with the standards. I finally search for another Blog System or Publishing System. Ryan was using MT and i tried it, have to installed it myself and it felt good. i finally installed MT and running it for a couple of months before i decided to tear everything down.

Then, i decided i still prefer a CMS running on PHP instead of CGI coz’ everytime i wanted to post something, i need to compile. Sick of it. End of the day, i’m back with Nucleus again. So, there I’ve recap the year of 2004 - where hizecool begins.

Apart of it, my hostee azlan is quite pissed off when i tear down everything on my hosting including his blog. I got him the mambo back but i’m not sure if he still wanted to blog anymore. On the other hand, those hostee are gone and i have the hosting for my own.

As for my personal life, 2004 is a pilot year whereby I finally out from college and into the working society. I would say it’s the year where i’m indebted to the bills. Phone bills, electricity bills, utility bills and car loans as well as TAR College loans. Blek~ My first job pay was good MYR 1600 excluding EPF and SOCSO. It was during internship under MSC Flagship - Talent Development MDC. With my second job as IT executive, it’s killing me with the salary of MYR 1300, after tax - MYR 11XX.XX. A lot of my friends encourage me to seek for a higher pay job. I’m waiting for the confirmation - and hopefully an increase of salary by MYR 400 - making it MYR 1700 raw. Doubtfully it would happen but at least I dare to hope. Here’s some summary of what’s what in my life in 2004:

^Health
There’s nothing wrong with me - a few sickness on and off. I can’t stand fatigueness.

^Wealth
Trying my best to accumulate wealth and avoid being trapped with bills. Still indebted with bills when i writing this.

^Career
I’m not in the mood of climbing corporate ladder at the moment. But during my internship as Asst. Network Engineer, i’m blessed with a good manager, Mr. Zow Hua Ern. He’s the nicest person i ever meet when I work in the company. He taught me a lot and I would consider him as my mentor in Telecommunication and Networking. Working in eB greatly expose me to the society. How everyone struggle to keep their head above water.

^Friendship
Made a lot of friends in eB. Each and everyone is kind and friendly. There’s always seems to have conspiracy theory about the CEO and COO. I guess that what makes the friendship and esprit-de-corp exist among us, the eB staff.
As for my coursemates, keeping in touch in the 1st year isn’t easy… everyone is busy working. Some aren’t in Malaysia and they are scattered around the states. However, i do believe that if each of us try the best to keep the 4 years of friendship alive.. we can finally make it happened. I still wanted to have an end year dinner with the rest of the gang.
Primary schoolmates gathered few times this year. Kind of a good sign. At least when we meet up with Josepha Lim, he’s kinda good in bragging and entertaining enough. Whatever he say whether consist of truth or lies, it doesn’t matter.
Setapakians are a bit tough on this one. Gathering would be hard coz’ they have their own clique. We will see how it goes.

^Love
Nil.

^Family
Doesn’t feel like to reveal.

I would embrace the year 2005 with more anticipation. I see that the road lies ahead are long and winding. Tough times never last, tough people do.
