Recently, there’s plenty of issue concerning education in Malaysia. Part of it is the increase of enrolment in International School. I read one article in Utusan, and to me, the author didn’t look into the fact of why more and more eager to send their kids into the international school.
Not just that sekolah kebangsaan that will affect but other local school. However, the question lies with why. Not only that international school are far more competitive in sense that they doesn’t really spoonfed the students but at the same time, having a slightly higher standard compare to local. Don’t give excuse that wanted to tailor-made the program to suite our people. Why not instead tailor the program to improve the student competitiveness.
Apa yang jelas, pendekatan memperkasakan SA dilihat sebagai suatu bentuk ‘usaha menjejaskan SK.Â
Good and bad is through comparing. In fact, I would say when SA become a threat to local SK (Sekolah Kebangsaan) then there’ll be improvement on our side. Let’s be frank here. Anything that without competition will stay dormant and never improve. Therefore, if we go ahead and let SA and SK compete, then we will be hoping to see there will be revolution in the education sector. Looking at the Hong Kong, each school or institution are competing with each other with the track record of students. This can be seen with the school only select those elite students with special talents. Those that cannot afford will end up in public school.
If we keep on looking at what SA can do to us, why don’t we try to look at what can be done at SK level to improve the competitive level? That way, we are actually preparing for the future.
I believe one major reason why chinese school or tamil school still persist until today is that the community wanted to preserve the language. Their mother tongue. The language itself. Why not we took away the Pendidikan Moral and shove in the language subject for the student to pick them up? What the hell is Pendidikan Moral for when there are still a bunch of matherfarker dispose their rubbish out of the car, illegal waste dumping, exortion, lane overtook, and so on.
When it comes to the standards, I do certainly agree with one of my previous tuition teacher, Raj that the standards in Malaysia already dropped. Why? He did provide us a past year question based on MCE and SPM. In fact, the biology question were freaking tough which was based on MCE back then. However, SPM wasn’t that tough and pretty much straight forward.
He added that last time, one required to think extensively and comprehensively before able to answer these questions. This proved that the standards in Malaysia’s Education has significantly drop. Who to blame in this case? Each and everyone has their role to play on.
