Miss K

Rantings Ramblings

Let’s call her Miss K. This is a story regarding the situation that happened in unique environment. In fact, it has nothing to do with the living. The dead? maybe.

Miss K was working in a multi national company as a consultant specialist on information technology. Since she was new, and a very handsome man was in required of her consultation on the proper solution for his situation he is currently facing.

Unfortunately, a young chap was the contact person between these two party. Let call him, Mr.D for the ease in relating to the entire situation here. Therefore, Mr.D have to talk to both party to get things down. since Miss K is fairly new to her job scope and lack of knowlegde in the area, Mr.D have to resolve to seek advise from the expert, which in this case the engineers.

However, after meeting up with the handsome guy, Miss K still have no any idea what the entire things he wanted as well what kind of solution were able to propose. In fact, after meeting with the handsome guy, Mr.D try to get hold of the engineers and seek their advise on the customer requirements. Not to brag but Mr.D have no proper knowledge in the information technology. After some discussion and more discussion, there are things that Mr.D still doesn’t understand how to provide a solution to the handsome guy. So to speak, it was Miss K job to do so.

Just when things started to get funny, Miss K wrote an email out to the engineers on the requirements as mentioned. Stated in the email was that she wanted the engineers to propose a solution for her. One of the engineers told Mr.D that Miss K sounds like she is the customer and they are the solution specialist. In addition to that, one of the engineers was being “splashed cold water” when he went to talk to Miss K about the solution she was talking about.

She insisted that the solution is feasible and he (one of the engineers) have no knowledge in that matter despite he confirmed that the solution cannot work as the handsome guy have a strict requirement. Needless to say more, Mr.D currently also don’t know what to do and was seeking my professional advise

My advise to Mr.D was to say “Fuck Off” . What says you?

On this day..

I think that this is common in IT today. It will change with time. Miss K should not have the job that she has. Miss K should be fired. Or Mr D should be fired. Ideally, both should be fired.

The job that Miss K has should be done by someone who has any one of these:

    1)engineering knowledge.
2)humility to listen to coders who know what is possible
3)businesss sense to be able to see that Mr D should also be fired, get someone else to do that job.

In my opinion, very few people who cannot code have a place in the IT world. But good looking and fast talking people keep getting hired despite a lack of skills.
