Youth
The young at play are ever so gay,
Oh! I do wish I could join them!
Years, seven times six, please roll away,
So again, I’ll be a maiden.
A maiden so carelessly free and dainty,
is what I want to be;
‘Cause, youth’ll not only bring fun in plenty,
But to undo follies, the key.
So, waste not youth, boys, waste not youth,
And look before you leap;
‘Cause for mistakes made, and time misused,
A life of regret you’ll reap.
