Looking back to my earlier involvement in the blogsphere, especially locally wasn’t that long. In fact, I started to mess with the online journal/blogs back in year 2001. I was started to deal with the programming side and getting heavily involved in the HTML and XHTML or even DHTML.
Besides that, I was also partly influenced by Ivan whereby he had started his blogging career earlier than me. From there, we get to know the hitz.fm friends - Ian, Ashley and more. At that time, there wasn’t much of using a database or blog engine. Mainly relying on the free webhost back then would be like angelfire for example.
But my own web host and domain was only in year 2004 when I started to work. Since then, I’ve been messing with MoveableType(MT) *thanks to theWard* and then moving to Mambo CMS, now known as Mambo Open Source. And from MOS moving to Nucleus, thank to the skin design which I ripped of from Ivan as well - my favourite teruteru. Finally, after some struggle to keep and maintaining the spam, I moved to the now WordPress. Having tried out a few but decided that WordPress is good to stick with after all. =)
From knowing nothing about PR reaching PageRank 6 and dropped from there after a year to PageRank 5, there’s nothing to talk about. I’m not a blogger that capturing a huge market after all.
Just now when I was trying to do facelift on my blog theme, I found it was pretty tough since most of my programming skills and design had already gone. I have no more the artistic touch to work on my blog anymore. In fact, I was wondering that where can I move from here since I got no skills that can be acquire or exploits by my future employer? Maybe just tell them I got contacts? Will that be good enough? Or I know who is AhPek and we always drink OhKau together?
If it is all started from here, where it shall lead me to? Que Sara Sara, the future are not us to see…..
