Don’t Do It – To No Avail

“After I told them that was not acceptable, they went right ahead and did it.”

 James Cameron

Recalling the times I babysit my nephews and nieces, I enjoy being with them. It makes me feel like kids once more. Young. Innocent. Vibrant. Carefree. They have no worries what the current world is having about. Only know about playing and crying and fighting and seeking attention.

Back then when they were young and curious, they tend to like to do things when we told them not to. Just like when I told them, don't play with fire. What they did? They go and play with it. I have this niece whom now studying in secondary school once did a thing we asked her not to. She was only 4 years old back then. My aunt and uncle operate a stall. Food stall to be exact. Selling grilled stuff, which we need to have hot and spicy stuff as sauces. Hence, we have to grind the chili, lime, and some other trade secret ingredients that makes the chili sauce one of the best in Setapak, some say Gombak as well.

Dont Do It To No AvailOnce fine day, she was sitting next to my aunt and me handpicking the good chili and separating the bad ones. Somehow, she managed to grab herself the chili and stuffed into her mouth. We was like flabbergasted when she chewed on it. A few times later, she stopped. Her facial expression changed. Tears forming at her eyes. The rest was history. We took hours and hours to get rid of the hotness at her lips and she ever since dare not touch the chili anymore.

I guess it's human nature to do things what they aren't suppose to do. The challenge and defying the authority. Like "No Smoking" and literally you see aplenty smoking around. When you told them "Do Not Touch" they go and touch. Reminds me of a friend of mine, where his gf asked him to use a bag which he choose not to. Nevermind but when asked him to pull out, he insisted to stay inside. What to do? "Kao Chut Yan Meng" ((cost of another life)) and the rest is history.

The rules say that we can blog anything under the sun. My category is "Under The Sun" hence that will increase my chances by 0.012% to get selected. What else. No link or mention Nuffnang is necessary. Meaning that I don't need to do like this "Nuffnang is giving free ticket for Pirate of the Carribbean 3". Even if you do, that won't help to increase the chances also. *I do hope there will be also 0.003% chances increase*

First cum first served basis? Aijor.. terlambat to post dah. Gone.

On the frontline

Under the Sun No Comments

Being the salesperson, my boss always tell me that we are the company frontline. We are the one that will be the first to deal with the customer. Anything goes wrong, you have to face the music first. Hence, time punctuality has become a need, which now I think going to become my habit. Hopefully few years down the road will be my nature.

Just on this day itself, I was given another trial. To meet the stipulated deadline. When it says deadline, it means if you cross the line, you are dead. After yesterday discussion with the customer, I have to go back to office in the evening and work my ass off to get the things done so I could get back to him the next morning, which is today @ 10am. Since the customer is good mood this morning, he allows me to extend the deadline to 12noon. Hence, the documents have to delivered to him before 12noon.

After finalization with my boss this morning, we left with approximately 57 minutes before the time struck 12. Messing with the grumpy printer, I wasted nearly 10 minutes trying to get the documents as well as the disc ready. Nice. The time was 1122 hour. Still have the time to rush out to the customer premise in downtown. Center of the hustle and bustle of the city. Jalan Raja Chulan. Where all the corporate offices are. The so-called Central.

Engine started. Time was 1124 hour, with every seconds ticking away, I sped to the Taman Cahaya to go to the Central via the Ampang-KL Elevated Highway. Also known as Elevated Highway or AKLEH. I entered the AKLEH approximately at 1137 hour. With the coast is clear and less traffic, I step in my accelerator and go all the way straight to the end of the road. Exact location was not given. Which floor and to whom I need to submit these to? Quickly, I took out my mobile and make a call with the eyes on the wheel. Manage to SMS as well. That's multitasking for you to do.

Exited the AKLEH at 1141 hour, I turned into Jalan Sultan Ismail. Traffic was slow with bumper to bumper ride for the next 10 minutes until I turned right, entering Jalan P.Ramlee whereby the Shangri-la Hotel is at my right side. Further up junction, I made a turn to left entering Jalan Raja Chulan. From there, my customer is located just at my left side. I need to find parking. Time was 1155 hour with 5 minutes to spare. Shit! No parking.

Next option, making a turn to the back of the building. Should be having ample of parking space there, I comforted myself. Yes, there's one slot left but the time already ticking so fast. 1157 hour with the room of 3 minutes to park the car. More than enough. By the time I entered the lift, it was 1200 hour sharp. Lift was slow. It took me additional a minute and 12 seconds to reach the 10th Floor.

I managed to submit in, but 1 minute and 12 seconds too late. I apologized to the customer for being late. He was cool with it and we sit down for business. The outcome? Still have another final round this coming Friday. Maybe another rush hour again?

By the way, it's 39 minutes to 12 midnight. Before the time struck 12, let's go to dS's blog and wish him a happy bird day too!!!!!
