Helen Adams Keller, the deafblind woman who became a role model for millions of people was born on 27 June 1880 in Tuscumbia, a small rural town in Northwest Alabama. She was borned a normal child but things changed at the age of 18 months when got an unknown illeness that shut her off from the world. But against overwhelming odds, waged a slow, hard but successful battle to re-enter that same world. The child grew into a highly intelligent and sensitive woman who wrote, spoke and labored incessantly for the betterment of others.
