Stories for my friend

I think one story not good enough to bring him forward. He still managing his life though. Well, tough times might be here, but never let the circumstances come above you.

Huei the other night at Blogger Booze reminds me of the story I needed to share with this common friend of ours. He knows I’m talking about him. Yes~! Yes~! It’s you I am talking about.

And here’s the story……

In Idaho, the potato farmers who want to get the best price for their potatoes, sort them according to their size: small, medium, and large. My friend told me of farmer, however, who had the reputation for being lazy. He just took all of his potatoes, and threw them onto the truck and drove them into town. As far as everybody knew, this farmer was paid the lowest price for his spuds. Everybody made fun of him until one day, one of the ambitious farmers happened to be there when the lazy farmer got paid for his potatoes. He noticed that the lazy farmer got the same high price that the other farmers got, who took the time to sort their potatoes. The ambitious farmer complained to the owner of the cooperative. The buyer replied, “Oh, he sorts his potatoes!”

“Oh no, he doesn’t. We all know what he does. He takes them right out of the ground. He puts ‘em on the truck and he hauls ‘em to town. He never bothers to sort ‘em.”

The lazy farmer was at the door and he overheard the conversation. He said, “I sort my potatoes. I just do it differently than you. I always take the rough road into town, for big potatoes always rise to the top on a rough road.”

The ambitious farmer went out to the truck with the lazy farmer and looked at the truck. Sure enough. The little potatoes were all at the bottom. The middle size potatoes were in the middle. The big ones were at the top!

When you go through rough times, if your heart is right, you will rise to the top.

What is with the blogger booze anyway? Drink, tok kok and sing song!! Since Daniel was the organizer, I ought to be there to give support. I dropped by on time and looking at the Modesto seems dodgy. A little run down of the place but that’s not going to stop us bloggers from having fun.

Overall, the gathering was great having to meet some prominent bloggers such as Desmo, Daniel, Kenny, KKJM, Earl-ku, Zewt, Louis, Yatz and much more those I can’t recalled. No worries, knowing that Advertlets had the list of attendees. Maybe they’ll release it soon on the blog who came what not? Anyway, I was enjoying the company from KKJM knowing he also first time joining the gathering. As for me, kinda laid back and relax. Anti-socializing according to Kenny. I told him I am more of an observant. Watch and see how things goes.

Through the night, I get to know more and more new bloggers. The typical questions I would usually asked them are “What drives you to start a blog?” and “What you blog about?” From there, I knew that most of them especially those new to the blogsphere had no idea much about blogging. One of them, if I recall correctly, Alyvn asked me what is the definition of blogging? In my humble opinion, I asked him back what is blogging to you? He told me that he wanted to blog to promote his business, which I totally agree. In fact, I do share with him my view that more and more corporation started their own blog. With different level of management blogging about the corporation, generating transparency and promote the culture of the organization. This will eventually lead to trust, branding and much more. Yet, to other blog can be a certain of personal expression of oneself, the blog centered on oneself. That’s absolutely correct too.

Each and every meet up with new faces, they taught me a lot. And I’ve learned a lot from them. Each of them inspiring in their unique way. icon biggrin The Blogger Booze

I wouldn’t want to belong to any club that would accept me as a member.

- Groucho Marx

This is a very deep and intriguing quote from the comedian himself. Widely used for the sense of belonging. More reading of the facts of his quotes can be read here.
