Being in this line of business, I often have the privileges to learn more about the technology and the trend in IT industry especially the networking field I am in. In fact, whenever I am available, I would talk to the managers in different industries to find out about their concerns and their views in the growing of the IT needs.
As the whole world talking about the Internet2, Web2.0, convergence and so on, IT managers are concern about the adoption of the right products and technologies. What will deemed fit and suitable in their organization? If they ended up buying those they don’t need, it will become a white elephant sitting there doing nothing. Or they ended up buying things they don’t need yet. Whatever it is, most of the IT managers see it coming. Here are some of the list that related to the networking industry
1. Web 2.0 or Internet2
2. IPv6 and 1000Mbps to desktop
3. WAN optimization
4. Convergence
5. QoS, QoE
6. Service Level
Come to think of it, the need for bandwidth control happens when there are too many application running over the same protocol for example HTTP. Yes, there are tools to manage these protocol but what is the suitable product for that? As the demand for tools such as PacketShaper or even Exinda, I manage to stumble upon this product known as PacketLogic from Procera Networks.
What so cool about this guy is that we are able to see very details and granular of the details of network flows. Yes. And this is how it looks like…..
