December Movies…. Wanna watch list

Under the Sun No Comments

I don’t know what’s wrong with me lately. Just that its been a while since I frequented the cinema with Vit Ping for a very long time. Due to the work constraint, I seldom joined him for any movie outings.

Now, I keen to catch the rest of the upcoming movies on the silver screen. Some of them which I am looking forward for as follows:-

I AM LEGEND

Robert Neville is the last living man on Earth but he is not alone – for every other man, woman, and child has become a vampire, and they are all hungry for Neville’s blood. By day, he is the hunter, stalking the sleeping undead through the abandoned ruins of civilisation. By night, he barricades himself in his home and prays for the dawn. How long can one man survive in a world full of vampires?

It’s the third version of the I Am Legend which is a 1954 science fiction novel by Richard Matheson about the last man alive on the planet Earth. Just wondering if the ending will be as the same as in the novel?

The Warlords

The film is set in the 1860s, during the Taiping Rebellion in the late Qing Dynasty in China. The story, based on an unresolved crime, tells of three sworn brothers (played by Andy Lau, Jet Li and Takeshi Kaneshiro) who turn on one another over a beautiful woman (Xu Jinglei).

I heard its good. Cannot miss this one for sure.

National Treasure: The Book Of Secrets

Atonement

On the hottest day of the summer of 1935, 13-year-old Briony Tallis sees her older sister Cecilia (Keira Knightley) strip off her clothes and plunge into the fountain in the garden of their country house. Watching Cecilia is their housekeeper’s son Robbie Turner, a childhood friend who, along with Briony’s sister, has recently graduated from Cambridge. By the end of that day the lives of all three will have been changed forever. Robbie and Cecilia will have crossed a boundary they had never before dared to approach, and will have become victims of the younger girl’s scheming imagination. Briony will then have committed a dreadful crime, the guilt for which will colour her entire life. Based on the romance novel by Ian McEwan.

The trailer seems intriguing. And the must bring chick along as well since it’s drama.

Aliens Vs Predator 2

At least this franchise of AVP2 set on a place whereby we can relate to. Not to forget Nuke too! Wonder if there’s be any scare scene. *ehm*

Traffic Flow Changes in Kuala Lumpur

Under the Sun No Comments

Since Monday, the traffic in the city has been getting worse. This is due to the traffic flow changes at the Dewan Bahasa Pustaka (DBP). It has been then closed to build a bridge from Jalan Hang Tuah to Jalan Dewan Bahasa at the intersection of Jalan Hang Tuah / Jalan Dewan Bahasa / Jalan Maharajalela / Jalan Loke Yew

I heard it is stage one of the road closure and we can expect more to come. The road closure will be expected until 11th August 2008. It’s a freaking eight (8) months time….

Here’s some of the guide for the road changes.

1. Vehicles from Jalan Istana (the flow from Mahameru Highway) heading towards Jalan Hang Tuah / City Center is urged to use Jalan Wisma Putra (which is temporarily changed to one way flow)

2. Vehicles from KL – Seremban Highway heading towards the Jalan Hang Tuah / City Center through Jalan Dewan Bahasa is not allowed and urged to route through Sg.Besi roundabout / Jalan Loke Yew.

3. Vehicles from KL – Seremban Highway heading towards the Jalan Wisma Putra is urged to use Jalan Sg. Besi exiting to Jalan Loke Yew heading towards to Jalan Maharajalela and exit via Jalan Belfield (next Chinese Assembly Hall).

4. The route at the Jalan Dewan Bahasa from Jalan Hang Tuah (exiting the City Center) heading to Jalan Istana remains intact.

On the other hand, the Cheras roundabout is undergo renovation as well. The motorcyclist lane has been closed to upgrade the Cheras roundabout. Another reason for being late to anywhere or I shall plan my travel 2 hours ahead to avoid any further complication.

Thank you Malaysia!

Using Facebook and Firefox

Under the Sun No Comments

Just recently after getting newly installed Firefox on the notebook, I wanted to upload some photos to there. However, whenever I running the photo uploader of the Java applet from the Facebook it just hang itself there. It is not responding and I couldn’t upload any of the photo except resorting to use Internet Explorer in which I dislike about.

Unwilling to accept that, I google-ed for some answer and however, most of the posts mentioned on the solution for Internet Explorer. I guess the first thing I need to do was to install the JRE. I downloaded the latest JRE and installed it. Still, nothing happened except that the Java applet logo keep running at the photos uploader page in the Facebook.

I realized that there should be something wrong. I did the following step which proven to work and I posted it in the Facebook forum as well.

Here’s the post I did in the Facebook forum.

I’m using Firefox 2.0.0.11 and the issue with the Facebook photo uploader was that they unable to run the applet giving me error

Hence, i download the latest JRE (version 1.6.0.3) & install
still unable to upload photo, I decided to run the Java Console, and perform the following matters:-

s: dump system and deployment properties
t: dump thread list
v: dump thread stack
x: clear classloader cache

after that, reload the uploader page and viola, it works.

hope it helps those FF users.
