Welcome to Malaysia

Rantings Ramblings No Comments

It’s good to be in Malaysia… not.

1. LHDN spent a lot on the IT infrastructure as well as paying huge amount for bandwidth. But it cannot cater for the surge of traffic?

a) Is it the system is not ready for the e-Filing?
b) Is the bandwidth in sufficient?
c) Is the LHDN under the cyber warfare attacks? DDoS / Zombies attack?
d) Is the people inside not doing their job?
e) Did they analysis the take up rate as compared to last year? Increment of how many percentage?

2. LHDN did not have enough envelope when I went to submit my tax declaration yesterday. I was informed that I need to deposit my documents in a box. However, when I obtained the form I was not given any envelope. Some LHDN branches practicing different way of doing things.

a) the one at Menara Kausar only allow the document to be submitted in a sealed envelope. They did not provide sufficient envelopes. No form of acknowledge mechanism were identified.
b) the one at the Pandan Indah allows the document to be submitted without an envelope. They will acknowledge the receipt of the photocopy of the document.

I ended up confuse which is the right way for a first timer like me.

3. Going to both RHB and CIMB in Pandan Indah to get the Western Union Fast Cash. Both systems are down. Questions:-

a) Since these banks are the agents for Western Union, is the Western Union does not provide sufficient facilities to accomodate the services?
b) Is the banks shortchange the service? How come even the RHB at the KLCC also the same. Except that the system isn’t down. It’s just purely slow.
c) The services suck. big time. I was informed that the system was down. Hence, I told them that I been waiting for some time until it was my turn, the system goes offline. Great. What was the option? I asked. I been told that I can go to the BSN or Bank Rakyat to do the collection there. Yeah… right. Thanks alot. That’s helpful.

*My own personal remarks*
All the branches at the bank are connected via a private network provided by the local service provider here. Be it Telekom Malaysia or Time or watever. The monopolization of the infrastructure makes it costly for all the branches to have a higher bandwidth. Hence, giving each branch around 1Meg or 512k is not sufficient enough…. and btw, there are too many factors to be considered about.

However, the main point is it need to take some time to make the changes.

So, tell me about Malaysia.. tell me about it. It’s a love and hate relationship.

Branding…

Huh? 1 Comment

Everyone is talking about branding nowadays. It is to setup and to present a particular image to the mass that this is who we are and what we are doing. Hence, corporate branding is nonetheless important if to penetrate the market. Some spends a lot of money through advertising.

Others just use the word of mouth. Especially if the logo is worth mentioning about. For example, by the UK Office of Government Commerce aka OGC.

they came out with the logo as below:-
OGC

Does it look like there is a mascot and he is indeed onani? (masturbate)

Quote of the day - for dSaintx

Blogosphere, Food for Thoughts 1 Comment

When I was younger, I could remember anything, whether it had happened or not; but my faculties are decaying now and soon I shall be so I cannot remember any but the things that never happened. It is sad to go to pieces like this but we all have to do it.

Mark Twain

Since today is dSaintx’s birthday, I would like to dedicate this quote to him. Indeed, his birthday let’s just wish that he can get much laid as possible. Hehe.. He can choose whatever type he can had for today’s special.

Being in his age of 30, reminds me of Kenny Ng last year. RM30 and no more change. This is the time they starts to ponder about their life. Can get sick and maybe depression. Not for this farker. He owned me on Scrabble in Facebook so I doubted he will be getting any of it soon. Urgh~

On the other hand, we are currently celebrating that the company has successfully blocked the MSN from our exploits. One of the reason stated why the boss requested that MSN to be block is because he is jealous? Jealous because all of us are busy chatting in the MSN? Like I told my colleague, that if he can’t beat us join us. He should get on MSN and add us. Maybe he felt belittled because we ignored him and never invited him to be part of our MSN circle?

It could be it, you know. Anyway, back to work.

RM40 to own Sabah

Under the Sun No Comments

I was like… flabbergasted when I came across the title from the local online newspaper. Like that also can.

KOTA KINABALU: Metal thieves blacked out almost the entire state of Sabah on Monday – for a mere RM40.

It is believed they removed steel pieces from a 132kV transmission tower that led to its collapse, triggering a major power blackout lasting nearly six hours from 6.41pm and affecting 300,000 consumers.

Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd managing director Baharin Din told a press conference yesterday that 20 pieces of steel holding the tower at Suang Parai area here had been removed.

Does it means that there are more vandals out there unable to earn their living but resorted to steal metal?

and I can still remember the hotline programme when they introduce it in the TGG last year.

SESB received a record 3,848 calls to its hotline number 15454 during the six-hour blackout.

Kota Kinabalu police chief Asst Comm Ahmad Sofi Zakaria said a full investigation was being carried out and they were also checking with scrap dealers to nab the culprits.

Oh well, when was the last time KL got a massive blackout?

There will be traffic diversion due to the above event. Kindly avoid these roads as there will be closure by stages. Note that the route to Persiaran KLCC will morelikely be interesting.

My source (Linpeh) mentioned he will assign 1 man (CKYeo) to run stark naked to “rampas” or steal the torch from the holder.

Here are the location we need to avoid from 2pm - 7pm

Dataran Merdeka - Jalan Raja - Jalan Tun Perak - Jalan Parlimen - Jalan Mahameru - Jalan Damansara - Jalan Sultan Hishamudddin - Jalan Sulaiman - Jalan Syed Putra - Sultan Muhammad roundabout - Jalan Stadium - Stadium Merdeka - Jalan Changkat Stadium - Jalan Hang Jebat - Jalan Hang Tuah - Jalan Imbi - Jalan Sultan Ismail - Jalan Raja Chulan - Jalan P. Ramlee - KL Tower - Jalan P. Ramlee - Jalan Pinang - Persiaran KLCC - KLCC

# Please use public transportation or plan your travel times well when going to work and do expect delays.
# Leave office early. You have good reason to do so. After all, its Olympics.

Hectic…

Rantings Ramblings No Comments

It has been a very hectic week. Just because of the tender submission and RFI submission deadline close to each other, I had to put more effort for them. Simply any sort of mistake is unacceptable at all.

Finally, at this time I managed to completed two (2) RFI and one (1) tender submission. With these 3 stuff occupying my mind, I had no room for anything. Just being very blank and blur despite I yet still have to handle daily requirements from the partners and customer. Working in the sales line is very demanding of your time, especially if we wanted to meet the customer or the partner’s expectation.

There are still few things that clouded my mind. I do hope I can think straight but it seems its getting tough. With the ongoing demand and pressure for the numbers, its just pushing me off to the edge. At times, I really wanted to pen down few over the blog but when I just staring at the screen I had the blog block. Earlier I had all the title and content to put into words but as I managed to work on 2 sentences… it just stop there. Not moving. Not going anywhere.

And I am still blur. For that there are 26 and 28 to anticipate. Tender preparation and tender submission again. :(

I am just the blurry type again.

If I could

just like a plain fainted picture

Quarter Life Crisis

Food for Thoughts 3 Comments

I never came across this term until recently, when I stopped by the Borders to browse for any good books. I came across a book that tell you about the guide in every year. Partly I was surprise with the content of the book, which I totally forgot the title nor the author.

As I read the age of 24 what they should do, the author recommending those in the age of 24 to to complete the 365 items listed in a year because that was the only time in life for them to do before venturing into working life.

Now that I am in the year of 25 going 26 this year, I happened to fall in the area of transition from Quarter Life Crisis to the working age. At the age of 26, I should be claiming more responsibilities and workload. Hence, the book recommending me to write a letter similar like below:-

I, hereby writing this letter to my current employer that I shall be committed, dedicated and selling myself, my soul and life for the next 40 years attaching to this company for the best, with minimum wages.

I will work my ass off, for every weekdays from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm. I will also work beyond the long hours after working hours, on weekend and even public holiday for the benefit of the company. I shall not complaint, shall not condemn and shall not criticize the company for she is the one giving me the bread and butter.

your slave
……….

Basically, I shall be required to write this letter to my employer at the 3rd quarter of this year. Meantime, I am living my life as going through the QLC (Quarter Life Crisis).

Some information on the wikipedia reveals that the terminology has become common nowadays. There’s also the book reviews.

The content of the book asked me to compare myself with 4 main people.

1. Bill Gates.
By the age of 25, he has founded Microsoft and making millions of dollars. Changing the world too….

2. Mozart
By the age of 25, he has performed all over Europe.

3. Alexander The Great
By the age of 25, he has conquered most part of the world.

4. Joan De Arc
By the age of 25, she has saved the France from England.

So, if you were neither there… there goes it. It is said that whoever you can be by the age of 25, you are the person throughout your life already.

How do you deal with your quarter life crisis?
