Cocka post on the Humsap Magazine inspired me for this post. It has been at the back of my mind to write and dedicate this post to the afternoon session discipline teacher back my time. His name is Cikgu Waikiki (Name has been altered to protect the non-innocence) and he is a very particular when the student spelled his name in the Sejarah project back then. One of my friend got deducted his points for failing to spell his name correctly.
Anyway, back to the story was when we were in the afternoon session where only cater for Form 1 and Form 2 students, Cikgu Waikiki was the discipline teacher that has been put in charge of the morale and discipline of the students. As I moved to the morning session, Cikgu Waikiki was no longer in the picture as Mr. Tong came in charge along with Murthy.
Technology advancement is something we cannot predict. By the year 1998, VCD sellers was at its peak. Everywhere can be found and the cost is cheap. RM5 per title. What worse was there’s one stretch of the road along Desa Setapak which was the heaven of VCD. Numerous VCD stalls were setup and VCDs were openly displayed. Those stalls was in fact owned by 2 organization which can be differentiate by the color of the cloth - red or yellow. What makes it even better was that the porn was vastly available. Ease of access. Various categories ranging from Cat III to Cat VI. Japanese, Western, Hong Kong and much more.
On a one fine day. an ex-Setapakian was browsing the VCDs at one of the stall at the Desa Setapak for some good videos. As he browse the titles, he noticed one fine gentleman was also browsing the same titles - porn. He turned over and saw that the fine gentleman was actually Cikgu Waikiki. Being an ex-Setapakian with good education from Setapak High, he turned over and greeted him. “Cikgu, cari VCD ke?”
Cikgu Waikiki turn over to look at the guy. One…Two…He then turned back to look at the title again. Suddenly, Cikgu Waikiki speak. He asked the VCD dealer on the some blockbuster titles and mumbles himself as he walked away. The ex-Setapakian knew Cikgu also got needs and it is okay and he doesn’t need to be pretentious.
