Car Insurance Claim Void

Under the Sun 4 Comments

PLEASE READ STORY. BEWARE !!!

This is a real story, my nephew told me, & I would like to share with all of you. Be careful, if u hv the habit of sending yr car for
car wash or similar matter (car jockey etc) while in shopping complex…

Two weeks ago my nephew sent his Toyota Harrier for car wash in the car park of Bangsar Shopping Complex while he had an appointment there. He handed the car keys to the car wash people n left the car park for his appointment.

After the appointment he went to collect his car, & the car wash people told him that his car had been collected. How CAN???
After a prolonged argument without any results, he had no choice, but to make a police report… n follow up by insurance claim…

Insurance company rejected his claim ‘cos the reason is the car was not stolen, the point of contention was why did he hand over the car keys to someone unknown, n why did he not wait there till the car washing was finished…???

So, be careful next time. If u really need to send yr car for car wash, better stay there and wait for yr car, if not, this may happen to you…

ALWAYS GET AN OFFICIAL RECIEPT LIKE YOU DO WHEN YOU SENT YOUR CAR FOR SERVICING AT HONDA, PROTON, TOYOTA… DON’T PLAY THE FOOL.

Pls forward this msg to your all your friends to warn all of them…

and on top of the email. here’s the reply

The Return of the Rice Cooker

Under the Sun 2 Comments

Since that the whole world and even my beloved country running out of rice/grains, especially the rice bowl state don’t have any more grains…. what is the use of rice cooker? Moreover, Linpeh recent post tell that rice cooker have no other use. Says who?

t insidecooker The Return of the Rice Cooker

Here are some of the usage of the rice cooker:-

1. You can use it for steamboat. Just dump everything into the rice cooker, and the put water and leave it to cook. Once the stuff boiled and there you go. Have your own steamboat adi.

2. You can stir/fry/steam
–> as mentioned by Adam Kuban

The jist:
Roger Ebert makes non-rice things in his rice cooker: “You can live your entire life never cooking with anything but a rice cooker. In fact, I’ve been threatening to write the rice-cooker cookbook. There’s a warning on my machine that says, ‘Do not cook anything in this but rice.’ But there’s no reason for that warning. You can make stews, soups and pasta in it.”

So does chef David Bouley [behind TimesSelect pay wall; sorry!]: “The Japanese chefs also showed him how to make tiny one-dish meals inside the cooker. To illustrate, he seasoned rice with a bit of soy sauce, rice vinegar, mirin and tomato water and put it in a ceramic crock small enough to fit inside the pot. After about 20 minutes, he stirred in morsels of half-cooked lobster, diced raw asparagus, minced chervil and tarragon and a splash of sake. Then he steamed the dish for another five minutes. ‘High-end crock cooking,’ Mr. Bouley said dryly.”

3. Make char siew since Rojaks Fei Hai like it so much

oh, yes! my aunt gave me an incredible char-siu (bbq pork) recipe that’s made in the rice cooker – you marinate pork butt or shoulder with soy, garlic, shallots, hoisin, hou chee sauce etc. overnight, then plunk the whole mess into the cooker and wait for the button to pop up. sometimes i push it down a couple times just to get the pork all caramelized and the sauce nice and syrupy. delish with a bowl of steaming white rice.

i am trying to journey beyond the use in the kitchen area… coz every house need to have one.
