I always love most of their songs. For they paint the love with their songs. It has been sometime I really tune to them. A bit of ballads and this seems to be out of the season where it’s more of a hip hop culture.
But some of the songs gave me the deep feeling. That message can simply put ‘does fairy tales exist?’. Our perception of love today are being taught but rather influenced by the idiot box, the TV. How much time we spend watching series? Especially the K-Drama which these ladies ended up with boxes of tissues. No more of ‘Notting Hill’ but the a little down-to-earth version of fairy tales. Most of the time, the male lead actor often the son of this wealthy tycoon or alike.
It is true that today we no longer just can survive with love alone. Not like the fairy tales. Where people talk about happily ever after. Some can accept the concept of ‘once had it before’ where the love was fierce, full of rage and eros.
Hence what is the acceptance level we can deal with? Ain’t no paradise but its all that got. I have flaws. I know. That’s why when the question was raised, “When was your last time read a book about relationship? Attending talks on relationship?” My first thought was… I think I treat John Gray’s “Men Are From Mars, Women Are from Venus” like a bible in relationship. At least it helps to set the understanding and expectation of the opposite sex.
Then the next book I had is by Gary Chapman’s The Five Love Languages, which reminding me of the needs of the individual.
The party’s on the room is crowded
your conversation is so polite
And when you dance you keep your distance
noone’s gonna walk you home tonightYou’re searching for perfect love
you dreamed of when you were young
you’ll find it or you won’t have anyoneChorus:
Why not forget your crazy dream
about a love that can’t exist
‘Coz while you dream so much you miss
you waste a lifetimeJust take a look below the surface
his golden hair will be turning grey
Though in your mind you pictured heaven
even heaven has a rainy dayNo one can touch a dream
so forever you’ve been on your own
you’re older and you are still all aloneChorus:
Why not forget your crazy dream
about a love that can’t exist
‘Coz while you dream so much you miss
you waste a lifetimeWhy don’t you take a look around
not everyone has settled down
But you still think you’re seventeen
It’s a crazy dreamSo take a chance and take your shot
No paradise but it’s all we’ve got
and I will try to make your dream come true
