Understanding Me, Myself

Whatever you have done in college time, it is going to be good memories especially when we bring it to the reunion time. Thus I believe that I have done something worthwhile to remember about since. The problem is that I can’t really remember what I have done right during my 4 years in TAR College.
One of my college buddies often regards me as a disgrace or an embarrassment to the family. In Chinese it is called “羞家”.

I never really thought about his statement until recently. Now come to think about it, I realized why he often says so. That because I am quite unpredictable to him. My action at times was totally unexpected and caught him and few others off guard.

One of the incidents that he recalled to me was that during one of the exam, we were going for a drink at the corner shop that we frequent in TBR (Taman Bunga Raya). So knowing that the moment the exam ended, the traffic flow was pretty bad and everyone wanted to get out of the college compound. The traffic was stalling. The traffic marshal was not been seen to take care of the traffic. Somehow yours truly out of nowhere took out the whistle that he had in his bag and started to blow it with all the might he had.

I was inside Ethan’s car, a buddy of mine when I blew the whistle. The car windows are down and he was pretty much way embarrassed by my action. Everyone was looking at the red SLK (Small Little Kancil) from the canteen which is situated by the road side. What else, it is priceless!!!

Another time was when I got this personal theft alarm, which I wanted to prove to Ethan that it works. The high pitch and loud sound is able to gain enough attention to hinder the snatch thieves which are quite rampant in TAR College area. In order to prove that it works, I pulled out the security pin inside the lecture hall. This caused much of commotion and again, my buddy Ethan felt that I have again strike the chord for giving him such embarrassment.

The recent act that I manage to pull off was asking a piece of birthday cake from stranger. One night, the Latkyok gang decided to go to Soul Out for a drink. There everyone was chit chatting when another group settled down nearby. After for a while, the group opened up a box of Secret Recipe’s cake. They sang birthday song and divided the cake. My friend Alex was looking at them and asked the Latkyok if anyone can get him a piece of cake.

Yours truly again at that time decided to walk up to them and ask for a piece of cake. Yes. I did by walked up to one of the kid there asking if he could give me a slice of the cake since there’s so much leftover. I told it is for a friend at my table. The group of kids looked stunned for seeing me asking for a cake. One of them saw me asking and told me that I can have a piece of it. At the same time, my Latkyok friends were totally embarrassed that they tell me to get back and just forget about the cake.

Since they want it so much but now that they think I’m a little way too over with the cake, I have nothing but to give up that piece of cake. Man!

On this day..

Hmm.. you are amazing, in a good way. I don’t see anything you’ve done above can be regard as “羞家”.
