Ponteng Sekolah

Setapak High 2 Comments

It’s been a while since I got some update on the High School stuff. Just last week few of us went out for a Carlsberg night @ Bobo Restaurant. We saw Mr. Tong, whom was our discipline teacher at that time.

We recalled that there’s one of the time trying to ponteng sekolah (skip school), vaguely trying to remember who joined in the action. Since Setapak High have plenty of escape routes, choosing the one next to the old bengkel (workshop) behind the basketball court was the weird one. They have to undergo the small sewer before getting out of the school compound.

By now, all of us were unable to remember who was the last one back out the last minute when everyone has crossed over. Since that time everyone don’t have the mobile phone, we don’t know what happened to the last guy. He just did not manage to cross the sewer?

The next day, we found out that he did not cross over the sewer for the fact that he saw there’s a crocodile waiting for him.

Since when Setapak High got crocodile? After a detailed interrogation, we found out it was not a crocodile but a monitor lizard

If you were to ask me

Under the Sun No Comments

whether I know who my brother, DC is getting married or not.

my answer 2 months back will be “yes”
and how I come to know it?

common friend of his told me. She was disappointed. And she asked if I knew about his being all this while? I told her that as a friend, I should not jump into the conclusion or tell anything bad about friends.

She moved on. I got busy with my own life that I couldn’t find time to be busybody about him… until last week

Schoolmate returned to KL from Singapore. He asked few of us (setapakian) out. We went to Teh Tarik @ Steven Corner Setapak. He told me that DC had informed him that he got married. I wasn’t surprised and asked if he knew who’s the lucky girl.

He told me that he is not sure of as the girl wasn’t the same girlfriend he had in Form 6. He further added that I can get to see their wedding picture in the Friendster. Hence, I just manage to go to the friendster to take a peek. Finally notice the name. Seems familiar.

PK. Now I know. Wonder if she changed her phone number or not. Better not. Coz what if DC invited me to his wedding dinner? That’s good and bad altogether.

Exit Interview

Under the Sun No Comments

In my previous 2 employment, there are no such thing called exit interview. When you are leaving, they’ll say … “good! see you!” and out you go.

The current company that I am attached to have thing called exit interview. Hence, not knowing what the meaning of it as well as the objective of such procedure, I looked up upon both wikipedia and about.com for some answers.

Here’s what I have found:-

An exit interview is typically a meeting between at least one representative from a company’s human resources (HR) department and a departing employee. (The departing employee usually has voluntarily resigned vs. getting laid off or fired.) The HR rep might ask the employee questions while taking notes, ask the employee to complete a questionnaire, or both.

and from the wiki

An exit interview is an interview conducted by an employer of a departing employee. They are generally conducted by a relatively neutral party, such as a human resources staff member, so that the employee will be more inclined to be candid, as opposed to worrying about burning bridges. The purpose of an exit interview is usually to gather data for improving working conditions and retaining employees. Common questions asked in exit interviews are, “What are your primary reasons for leaving,” “What did you find most satisfying about your job,” “What did you find most frustrating about your job,” “Were there any company policies or procedures that made your work more difficult,” etc. Many career advisers recommend treating an exit interview like a hiring interview, in that criticism of the past employer should be limited to statements about the company as a whole, rather than specific individuals.

In my case, most companies should practice additional procedure and follow up activities like below:-
