It’s Official

Been pending to draft it, and type it into Wordpress. Was written in the notepad for the past month.

First time this year, I’ve enjoying more “yee sang” or “lou sang” than I expected. This is because I would say that it takes me more than 3 times for that event.

The first session started earlier with my bunch of colleagues. We had a buffet lunch at Jogoya. They provided us a “yee sang” at the end of the feasting if we had a minimum number of 8 pax. It is one of the best because we can top up the salmon up to our liking. At the end, it ended up covering the entire dish. Thinking about it now makes me salivating….

The second time was having it with the bunch of bloggers. The usual gang namely Linpeh, 9393, Angel, Wingz, Huei, Boredworkers, JKN, Kenny Ng and Young Man AceOne HamHai. During this session, we have the performance from the YMCA AceOne. On top of that, we got LinPeh to become our lead singer while the rest acted as the groupie behind, known as the doggies…. Tell you what, we are going to participate in the Gang Starz - to be the best in Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia. Some say… Hattyai too. Let me present you… “Linpeh and the Doggies”. Err, photos are not allowed as it will affected our images.

Almost forgot, that after the bloggers session which is 2nd session, I was having it with my boss and colleagues during lunch time the next day. It was because boss kept saying that he haven’t yet to lou sang despite the Chinese New Year is around the corner. Having it at a nearby economical restaurant. We are footing dutch. =.=’

The fourth session was an impromptu session with couples of ex-colleagues from previous employment. They also bringing their friends along too to make the number. Too less doesn’t justify for a “lou sang” coz by going 8 pax, it’s auspicious enough. This round it was far more cheaper as we were ordering the ala carte instead. I was too hungry as we reached at “Tung Jing” around 8pm. Really late for dinner time. Mind you. I didn’t manage to capture the “yee sang” dish this time around.

The next day, I had another dinner session with Latkyok friends. These are the annual LatKyok New Year Dinner. Organized by Dan, we gathered at Crystal Palm in Jalan Ipoh on the 6th of CNY. This time is slightly costly due to the fact that the food is way…. delicious. Nice and it comes with plenty of abalone strip in the “yee sang”.

The sixth session was with my Setapakians but due to the arrangement, we had it at the Ship. It wasn’t a good atmosphere because it is really a western style. The lunch wasn’t as expected because we are having western food. Maybe next time lah coz’ we haven’t been meet up like this for the last 7 years.

The seventh session was with my college friends. We had it at the Six Happiness, Setapak. For quite some time haven’t seen them, it was a nice and good get together. Likewise, I forgotten to capture the “yee sang” dish.

Last, but not least was the final session with my company principal. She say that she lastly recalled that she haven’t actually had the opportunity to have a “yee sang” with my colleagues and I. It was kind of rush and last minute thing. Here’s the pic.

A short info on the “yee sang” one might asked. Please read exerpt from the wikipedia for more info. Here’s the excerpt.

Yusheng or yee sang (Chinese: 鱼生; pinyin: yúshēng) is a Chinese-style raw fish salad. It usually consists of strips of raw fish (most commonly salmon), mixed with shredded vegetables and a variety of sauces and condiments, among other ingredients. Literally translated, “yusheng” means “raw fish”, though it can also be taken to symbolise abundance, prosperity and vigor.

The Past - CNY Cards

Down Memory Lane, Friends with OMFGWTFBBQ No Comments

Following up with my previous post, I begin to dig out all my past and then, I saw a stack of collection. Niabeh, people collects stamps or whatever that is valuable. I collect CNY cards. =.=”

dsc00239.JPG

Maybe it was because these were given by my friends. The first card that worth mentioned it this. “Keep It” Mahai… and I really keep it since 1993. Been like 14 years already. And I also dunno where this fella already gone. Lost contact in secondary, form 2 where he have to re-locate several times due to his dad occupation.

dsc00230.JPG

Then I have this good friend of mine, whom took all his trouble to write a few words. Guess that time English was a bit tough for him. It stated, “Dear T*n, May Our Friendship Come True Last Longer That Can Make You A Happier Friend

dsc00231.JPG

Come to think of it, I also wanted to laugh his mistake. Our friendship back then wasn’t true? Maybe he was too engrossed with “May Your Dreams Come True” I think.

dsc00233.JPG

When we were young, anything also we can think of. I had a friend we often called him “Tangki” due to the pronounciation of his name. So, that particular year, he gave me a CNY card, which he signed with “Water Supply” + a Swastika next to it. =.=’

dsc00234.JPG

Then I have this best buddy of mine whom been keeping in touch since primary 1. Furthermore, his family know my uncle and somehow, we were very close. I couldn’t ever forget that he bite me while I endlessly whacked his back. See, like chinese saying.. never fight, never knew each other. In his CNY cards, he wished me to “Work Harder. Don’t work halfway”.

Come to think of it, I think that year, I really worked like a dog….

Bleargh. You thought you very keng meh? Rover only ma… if I continue my profession in scout, you by now have to serve me tea, prepare water, sweep floor and cook for me as well. Dun believe me? Sky keep you lor.. Hahaha.. Kidding. Actually I have no intention to offense you, but I couldn’t find any opening for this post.

You see, I was once a scout before and nope, I will not post my scout pic coz I’m too chubby!!! Like ahpek say, I fatt hau mar. =.= Anyway, I was cleaning my inventory when I saw the chocolate box that I used to keep all my belongings. Those I wanted to keep for remembrance. So, I still have the scout thingy with me although most of them get lost throughout my relocation from one house to another.

dsc00221.JPG

Too bad that during my High School time, there’s no scout association and there’s other kind of uniform bodies which I decided to boycott once and for all. Come to think of it, perhaps that’s why I couldn’t make it to IPTA. Coz I doesn’t carry any point from the uniform bodies for co-curriculum.

Since that I have no other option and being a very obedient and good student, I joined few clubs to fulfil my requirements. One of the club I joined was Chess Club. I managed to get myself into the school team in 1998 and representing the school. You know what…? After all the brain cracking session, all I get from them is this….

dsc00223.JPG
Some more have to buy… Sky Keep You lar…. Seriously, it was once of the best club as we have a very entertaining groups of people. From the members up to the committee members including the president. I wanted to take this opportunity to thank my chessy sifu, Min Wee.. KAM SIAH….

These are the fews memorable items I have right now. Some of it are mostly Setapakian stuff. Dunno got value or not if I lelong it at eBay. Scare same thing happened to KennySia mia underwear. PriceWorthless!!

I think there’s more to come since I begin to dig up my past and all I get is dirt all over my body. :D

Surprised letter from her

Congratulations, My Dearest Friend MY

Down Memory Lane No Comments

To my dearest yet beloved friend, congratulation. From the bottom of my heart, I wished you a good marriage and a happily ever after fairy tale like ending. I wish I could attend yours and it is going to be one of my most regretful events that I am missing.

From the day I know you, through the Magazine Galaxie to date, you are very special to me. I still kept the letters with me from the day one. All those things you been telling me, were still very fresh inside my mind. How you find that to choose either one as your pen pal originated from KL. You said that you decided to pick me up instead of the other and chuck the guy’s letter down the rubbish bin. I found that I am so lucky that among millions of minions, you have chosen me. I’ll never forget that. We started off since feb 1998 and it’s going to be a total of 10 years although the length of friendship cannot be measured through a measurement of time.

If were to look back at our correspondence, it is funny to see how both of us grew throughout the time. After our secondary education ended, I miss to hear from you until one sweet day when I received a postal from Australia. It was from you all the way down under. You told me that you are going to further your studies there. And after the transition education, you picked up a major course. Majoring in nursing. To serve and help. A noble idea. But my heart ache when I saw your avatar on the MSN where you were like drunk (lack of sleep) holding a cup of coffee.

Just gone through the previous emails you sent while back then when you just enrolled in RMIT. Things about Vic, being vegan and driving the oddessy around. Plenty of stuff going through my mind now. The tormented feelings and impulse just wanted to go over to Taiwan for your big day in Feb. It’s not easy though as you meant something for me. Someone I feel ease and comfortable sharing my entire story and stuff. Just like you say, it feels like you are my other half… I think I deleted most of the early email correspondence but out of somewhere, I managed to print them out in hardcopy. :P

It’s your birthday today and I can only wish you a happy birthday from your birthplace, Malaysia. And furthermore, the latest movie “Happy Birthday” reminds me of your birthday.

Psychology Exam

Down Memory Lane No Comments

We had a lecturer that just graduated from local uni and he teaches my class part-time. Most of the time inside the tutorials, he will be bullshiting along side with Alan and the rest of the class members. It goes on like a honey moon until the time strike. End of semester and time for exam. Everyone panicked because we all don’t know what is it all about since nobody really care about it.

So the only option that we can opt for was to beg ask for a favor from the lecturer. Now, on the very last class of the semester, the tutor/lecturer ask us to get ready pen and paper. He wanted to give us some “Area of Emphasis” aka “tips” He was reading through a paper which he proclaim it was the actual examination text paper. Curious, Alan trying to look at the paper but was refrain back by the tutor.

Now, we are copying questions… Something alike examination questions. Day passed, and during the examination of the psychology, i did well. extremely well. I take innitiative to study the questions and come up with my own answer for each question. During the exam time, those answers i prepared were the answers needed to excel. For the size of 300+ candidates for that subject, most of them took 30-45 minutes to complete the exam out of 2 hours given.

The next semester and onwards, we didn’t saw the tutor again. God bless him]]>
