The Hectic Travel

Outings, Understanding Me, Myself 1 Comment

Once again, I was on a day trip up North again. Going to Penang for the business purpose along with my principal. They need to meet up with the client that mentioned to them for a while. Luckily for me, it was they themselves whom offered to join them in a car instead of me driving another car. Eco-friendly and cost savings too.

The day trip was on last Friday. As for the day before, I was out with a friend of a friend, Yap to meet up with his friends. Girl friends. After that session, both of us decided for a second round of teh tarik at the mamak stall nearby where he stayed. We talked a lot from the girls to faith to cars and careers. It was the second or third time I get to know him. From that night, I learned a lot about this person. By the time we finish talk cocks, it was 2 in the morning. I quickly left the place since that mamak was closing the stall.

Reaching home, I couldn’t yet sleep and hence decided to drop by at the nearest cybercafe for a round of dota or two. Coincidentally, I met up with my colleague t-m over the blueserver. He was on leave until next year so he played dota quite regularly in these few days, which he told me as I asked where he has been. I didn’t know that he was on leave till next year. It was about more than 1 week kind of period.

Anyway, by the time i noticed it was already five-ish. By an hour or two I will be heading to the rendezvous point in IOI Resort which is quite a distant from where I stayed, which is Setapak. I headed home after the final game of the match to take shower and prepared myself. After packing, I headed to the IOI Resort. Lacking of sleep, I dozed off once I alighted to the principal car. It was on and off I wake up when they stopped for a short rest and coffee. We reached the Penang slight after 12 noon. They went for their Friday prayer while I was out there taking a glass of teh tarik and sms-ing.

We headed to the customer site to conduct a presentation after having our lunch at Queensbay Mall. By the time the meeting ended, it was 5.00pm in the evening. Since it is Friday and we believe that the bridge will be definitely packed and congested, the principal decided to go for a dinner. They heard that mee udang in Penang was good. As for me, it was my first time going for mee udang since usually I would go to look for penang laksa or char kueh tiaw. Knowing from Grace that the Teluk Kumbar famous for the Mee Udang, I called her up to seek direction. She did give me a good guide to the Teluk Kumbar but no one was able to tell me which stall serves the best mee udang. Therefore I had to resort to call up Bryan for help. It seems that not much people knows about mee udang in Penang. :( I should have called Chan Lilian but my phone battery is depleting very fast. It was due to my overnight gaming session that I didn’t manage to put my phone to charge.

Anyway, after enjoying the mee udang we left the island on the ferry. Yes, the principal insisted to go on the ferry which ended up on the mainland at 9 plus. Had a coffee break at the Lotus before departing from Penang. Reached KL around 2 something but with mission in hand, I straight headed to the cybercafe at my house to get online. I was asked to help to do something before the deadline reached.

I slept the whole morning till 12 noon before wake up to go to run some errands. By the time, I manage to get Hallajs to help me with the online server things. Thanks to him, we manage to secure the data which is very crucial to me. It was the matter of life and death. Thank bro.

My earlier plan was to stay overnight in Penang for a day or two during the weekend. Planned to ask Mei Ying out on the next day but I promised to attend his wedding dinner, which falls on Saturday the next day. Maybe some other time with uploading the pictures.

J.Co and Pavilion

My colleague invited me for the free movie tickets screening @ the Pavilion. GSC was offering few movies and 4 of us went there for the movies. We watched Spiderman for the 7.15pm slot and for the 2nd slot, we have to 2 tickets for the Secret starring Jay Chou and the other is the is french movie, Priceless.

DSC00760

I watched the Secret with another colleague whereas the other 2 watched the french movie. I told my colleague that it was my first time going to Pavilion and furthermore was joining them :D We had J.Co donut in between the movies. Since that there’s such big hype about the donuts, we ought to try ourselves to find out. One of my colleague, AW claims that there’s not much different from other donuts. No big deal except its very soft, much fillings and not so sweet.

DSC00762

We bought half dozen from there and finished it before enter for the shows. The other colleague, CL bought another half dozen from there but was stopped from entering the cineme. Note : the cinema was just started and the air conditioning wasn’t that cold yet. Now I heard it was very very cold at night. We were sweating through the both movie. The ticket attendent stopped him and requested him to leave the box at the counter so he could collect from them after the movie. That caused him to forget to pick up later and we went back to the cinema after we almost reach to the parking lot. More walking for me. :P

DSC00761

The queue was long and we waited for 5-10 minutes. I lost count when I saw the numbers of donuts for my taste buds. Yummy…. and it was very hard to make the choice which to pick. Imagine whether I should get half dozen or 1 dozen? But nonetheless, I will go there again when the one at the Sunway opened for business.

DSC00759

How can you choose among those?

DSC00758

Look at how hygiene are they when preparing the donuts.
DSC00756

Don’t know when I shall go there again for the donut. Anyone? Movie and Donut again? Btw, I am looking forward for the sequel of Narnia - Prince Caspian.

A little of Saturday

Blogosphere, Outings 1 Comment

This weekend seems so fast. Now it’s Monday, and like any true orange form of cat.. one shall hate Monday.

It all begins with the morning call. It was so early that I can barely understand why… then i procastinate myself till noon before decided to get my arse up to Mid Valley. I told myself that I really seriously need to get Wilson a present for his room. I had nothing in my mind except getting him a lava lamp.

I reached Mid Valley in the shortest time required. Waste no time to go to the few shops to search around. I found one small shop selling sort of lava lamp. I asked the boss what type of lava lamp suitable. Since it is for the room and especially Wilson’s bedroom, he suggested to get for a small one. This way the room won’t be overheated from the lava lamp.

Blue Green Lava Lamp

Since I never been to his room nor knowing what kind of design, I opted for a mixture of blue and green lava lamp. It turned out to be perfectly suitable for his room. He had a blue base wall to start with. One side note is that Mid Valley does provide wrapping services for free, as long as the items are purchased there.

By the time I finished, it was around 2pm. CKYeo was going to pick me up in 3.30pm after fetching Sapphire. Few of us were planning to go for the Sally Yeh Live in SP Setia. Not after our dinner in Klang. Since it was impromptu, I called up Rabbit to bring us for good food. She brought us to “Hau Yi Seafood Restaurant” and CKYeo ended up with the piles of craps crabs.

Sally Yeh SP Setia Live

The show was good but we ended up left earlier than we thought because Sapphire wasn’t feeling well. After sending her back, we headed to Asia Cafe for dota session. Little did we know that we will see Sasha and her big family there. They were feasting. CKYeo saw Sasha’s hubby and nudged me about it. Since I don’t have Sasha’s number, I notify another blogger to kacau Sasha about it. Later next day, I received the sms as follow:-

Ha ha, your new job is bloggerrazzi ah?

Guess we really caught her this time. :P

It was in the midst of dota-ing, my headache starts. I had my fever there and then… which brings me to here. Anyway, it was all well end well.

my111 nandos 53

Blogosphere, Outings 1 Comment

It was an impromptu. I didn’t even notice why did the hell there were a plenty of search engine keyword about this “my111 nandos” until the very last minute, CKYeo called me.

He informed that the bunch of BlueServer people are heading to the nearest nandos for free meal. Surprising I asked, what is with the free meal? he told me to sms the keyword “my111 nandos” to 33365 to get the free meal coupon/voucher.

Then I recalled and googled for it. It direct it to my earlier fwded post which I did not even read about it. How silly me. Anyway, we headed to the Mid Valley Nandos with few of them. All of us got free meals but the point is, we need to be separated. Only one meal per table.

So, sitting far apart each of us have to pretend not knowing one and another. :p

The Blogger Booze

Blogosphere, Outings 8 Comments

What is with the blogger booze anyway? Drink, tok kok and sing song!! Since Daniel was the organizer, I ought to be there to give support. I dropped by on time and looking at the Modesto seems dodgy. A little run down of the place but that’s not going to stop us bloggers from having fun.

Overall, the gathering was great having to meet some prominent bloggers such as Desmo, Daniel, Kenny, KKJM, Earl-ku, Zewt, Louis, Yatz and much more those I can’t recalled. No worries, knowing that Advertlets had the list of attendees. Maybe they’ll release it soon on the blog who came what not? Anyway, I was enjoying the company from KKJM knowing he also first time joining the gathering. As for me, kinda laid back and relax. Anti-socializing according to Kenny. I told him I am more of an observant. Watch and see how things goes.

Through the night, I get to know more and more new bloggers. The typical questions I would usually asked them are “What drives you to start a blog?” and “What you blog about?” From there, I knew that most of them especially those new to the blogsphere had no idea much about blogging. One of them, if I recall correctly, Alyvn asked me what is the definition of blogging? In my humble opinion, I asked him back what is blogging to you? He told me that he wanted to blog to promote his business, which I totally agree. In fact, I do share with him my view that more and more corporation started their own blog. With different level of management blogging about the corporation, generating transparency and promote the culture of the organization. This will eventually lead to trust, branding and much more. Yet, to other blog can be a certain of personal expression of oneself, the blog centered on oneself. That’s absolutely correct too.

Each and every meet up with new faces, they taught me a lot. And I’ve learned a lot from them. Each of them inspiring in their unique way. :D

Hunterthon - more of the rush hour

Outings No Comments

Last year I was supposed to join my colleagues in a hunt but I gave it up due to some other reasons which I ended up no idea what are they about. This year, with an opening in the team I participated for the Hunterthon Adventure Cruise.

It was in conjunction with Pendrive 5th year anniversary during the IT & Sports Carnival 2007, PJ Digital Mall and the prizes are not that attractive but good enough for a whole new experience in it. We got wristband, Pendrive skin, a 256 SD card and much more from that event itself.

P6240146

In the wee hours of the Sunday morning, I had not given any thought of the event that will stirs so many crowd but looking at the queue that morning was a long queue from the patrons wanted to get 1GB Pendrive for the price of RM15 (correct me if I’m wrong). Wow, didn’t realise that it was a huge motivation for those young to get up early on Sunday morning.

The event begins with the first location - Pendrive’s HQ located at Merchant Square, Tropicana. Ended up passing by the place for twice times but failed to recognized it. We were the first passing by but ended being 23rd at the first check point. The next clue lead us to the Batu Caves whereby my driver speeding like there’s no tomorrow. From Batu Caves, we headed to Eye on Malaysia. We managed to climb on to the ranking with only completing 1 rounds of the entire 4 rounds.

The hunt was so intense as it is just the speed that matters. We raced to Low Yat HP Store to complete a task. It was a totally screwed task where we have to reboot the computer just because the Microsoft Vista unable to detect the SD card. The next destination bring us to the Fitness First in Menara Axis and Putrajaya. The final checkpoint was at the IOI Mall where the song by John Denver - take me home positioned us at the 4th team.

Knowing that to no avail to grab the first 3 prizes, we took our own sweet time back to the Mall. By the time we reached there, we need to print out some photos. Being that, we were the 13th team to complete the task. It was not as “fun” as I expected tho’

Fantastic Four : The Rise of Silver Surfer

Outings, Reviews No Comments

A friend of mine, Gary invited me for a movie. I went and watched the Fantastic 4 at 1 Utama last night. With much reviews and feedback, I shall keep my so-called review plain short and simple. Overall, I would like to believe that the second installment is just merely a follow up from the first movie. It reflect the beginning of the Fan4 team, and basically character development.

10m

Silver Surfer (Norrin Radd) and Dr Doom played important roles for the character development especially for the Torch. A pretty good insight to ponder as well. What kind of individual we are that we keep on focusing things that are just materialistics?

It’s much more better than its predecessor. But most comic fans are expecting something further more than it. Just because the Silver Surfer himself is houlier-than-thou. :D Enough with the talking. Let’s see what other movies shall come back with their promised trailers.

By the way, it was the first time I went to watch at 1Utama’s GSC. To be frank, it is a pleasant cinema to be in with comfy couch.

Other side of Pennyz Story

Blogosphere, Outings 1 Comment

With everyone whom attended the PennyPupz farewell party buffet and they did blog about it, I think I also have my own side of view and story to tell about. Being the one (and also few of them such as Nick, Scott and Up3Up4) without camera, I’ll rip and recycle what photos they already posted to make this post interesting.

alpha009

Ripped off from Carmen @ BeerBottletalks

Let’s begin with the day before the actual eating session took place. Wingz called me few days earlier (actually weekend) stating that Pennypupz is going to UK. Hence was thinking of doing a minor farewell party to her. Ask her come out and eat together gather with the bloggers alike. Me and my big mouth then asked Wingz, “When? Where? Who? Budget? How?” which in response was “You kaotim it all lar” which referring me to arrange the entire outings. Like Suanie says, where can say no to Taikor Wingz one?

030720073688

After numerous number of calls and contact I’ve deal with, finally managed to come out with those that is affordable, within the radar of budgeted outings, which the entire purpose was to bid farewell to Penny. At first the location was “Yuen Steamboat Restaurant” but when I called to do the booking a day before, I found out that they are closed on every Tuesday, first and third week of the month. Since that there are a few steamboat buffet around the area, Wingz and I finally decided to finalize on the location since everyone already been informed. At the end, I have to go to site survey myself for the place to make sure the shop are in operation.

CRW_2350

By luck, my friend also assisted me in surveying the place provided me another location - Summer BBQ and Steamboat Buffet. 3rd Floor above the cash Converter. Slowly one by one arrived in time and some on time. What happened was Rojaks lost his way for don’t know whatever reason and I got blame for the so-called strategic location. :( Anyway, attendance was 12 pax from our guest Ms.Penny, Scott, Carmen, Kenny, Me, Kimchi & Scott. We also got Suanie, Kid Chan1, Nick and Han2. Not to forget our latecomer, Up3Up4.

711946194_ed4151febe

Tok kok and gossiping was considered one of the major event. With people camwhoring even at the mamak level.

CRW_2361

When Penny said that she will be going there for few months and not forever… we were thinking, go there for enlarge what? enlargement of …… mind of course. What do you thinking!!!

CRW_2362

Anyone leaving the country soon? Can go gossip again. Hahahaha. Gossip only. Not spreading lies okay? And most of us are working too. And the percentage that come out for the gathering shows that 80% of bloggers are women is not true.

Cheers!! Have a nice week ahead.

Batu Pahat Wedding Trip

Outings No Comments

As soon as I received the invitation to a wedding lunch in Batu Pahat, I quickly get in touch with the rest of the former colleagues. This good friend of mine who is getting married was my supervisor in my previous employment. He keep telling others that we are working as partners. Assisting one and another. Just to side track a bit, the other day when I told some of my friends that I am heading to Johor for a wedding lunch, most of them were surprised that how come it’s lunch but not dinner. Hehe…I think it’s a norm coz the more remote the place, these people sleep early.

The couple, Chris and Fang Chee is happily married on 9th June 2007. So, I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate them and hope they are blessed with a lot of children. When the day comes, our convoy were complete. Going down south with 4 cars, the journey begins. Since one of them are going back to their hometown in Pagoh, this left 3 of the car heading to Batu Pahat. We reached Batu Pahat Mall for a break since we’re early by couple of hours. Some shop around while the remaining just taking a coffee break at the OldTown Coffeeshop.

When we at the restaurant, apparently we found out that we are the earliest to be there. The food… they feed us like pig. All are in larger portion. Scary man. However, there’s one occasion that reminds me the general erection election is coming. That’s when the father of the bridegroom handing out donation for several association and club during the lunch. I suspect the bridegroom wanted to participate in the upcoming erection election? It was another nostalgia period during the lunch. Just as soon as the first dish were out, there were numbers of adults queuing up to go on stage to perform. It was classic. From 60 and 70 songs to Hokkien songs. Luckily in between, there’s this Super Star contestant whom reached top 12 before being voted out to perform. It was really a blessing that reminds I’m not that old after all.

The wedding lunch ended 10 minutes to 5pm. The convoy of 3 had again reduced to 2. One of them ventured further south to Singapore while the rest decided to headed back to KL after dropping by Malacca for a walk. For a planned 1 hour walk in Jonker Street ended up 2 hours more. I’ll leave it for another story altogether.

Some photo captured from the wedding….
BP Ocean, Break at old town, Pacific batu pahat, Coffee break and on the way.

On the move

Blogosphere, Outings, Understanding Me, Myself No Comments

here’s the plan. By the time this post is up, it is going in between money-minded posts. Yes. I’m I mean, that this post is being sandwiched. Basically just to inform; uh… well nobody seems to care. Actually, I’m on my way up north. Heading towards northern of west coast.

By the time the post is up, I shall be sitting in for a presentation to my customer in Penang. Leaving in the morning wee hours to meet up with another customer for a morning breakfast in Ipoh. Well, he’s is a wise man that taught me the meaning of responsibility. Reminds me that for the pay we are getting, is the pay we are paying for the amount of responsibilities. There’s no free lunch in this world. Everything comes with a price.

Packed with tight schedule, hopefully I could take some time off for my friends and relatives. Miss my cute nieces and nephews back in Bkt Mertajam. Got another gang of Utopia/Dota kaki also. It’s been a while too. Sigh~! Too many to be done yet too little time. :P

How can i miss out the fellow Penang bloggers? From bryan, ey, ks, chanlilian and so on… they are bunch of friends that so good to be true. ;) let’s see how and if time permits, i’ll definitely will give a buzz.

Meantime, let’s pray hard that my other PIC1, konfucious did not turn my site into his another scandalous infotainment. Hehehe…. have a great weekend. Do take note… It’s friday alrite.
