Fearful Discipline Teacher

Setapak High 2 Comments

Cocka post on the Humsap Magazine inspired me for this post. It has been at the back of my mind to write and dedicate this post to the afternoon session discipline teacher back my time. His name is Cikgu Waikiki (Name has been altered to protect the non-innocence) and he is a very particular when the student spelled his name in the Sejarah project back then. One of my friend got deducted his points for failing to spell his name correctly.

Anyway, back to the story was when we were in the afternoon session where only cater for Form 1 and Form 2 students, Cikgu Waikiki was the discipline teacher that has been put in charge of the morale and discipline of the students. As I moved to the morning session, Cikgu Waikiki was no longer in the picture as Mr. Tong came in charge along with Murthy.

Technology advancement is something we cannot predict. By the year 1998, VCD sellers was at its peak. Everywhere can be found and the cost is cheap. RM5 per title. What worse was there’s one stretch of the road along Desa Setapak which was the heaven of VCD. Numerous VCD stalls were setup and VCDs were openly displayed. Those stalls was in fact owned by 2 organization which can be differentiate by the color of the cloth - red or yellow. What makes it even better was that the porn was vastly available. Ease of access. Various categories ranging from Cat III to Cat VI. Japanese, Western, Hong Kong and much more.

On a one fine day. an ex-Setapakian was browsing the VCDs at one of the stall at the Desa Setapak for some good videos. As he browse the titles, he noticed one fine gentleman was also browsing the same titles - porn. He turned over and saw that the fine gentleman was actually Cikgu Waikiki. Being an ex-Setapakian with good education from Setapak High, he turned over and greeted him. “Cikgu, cari VCD ke?”

Cikgu Waikiki turn over to look at the guy. One…Two…He then turned back to look at the title again. Suddenly, Cikgu Waikiki speak. He asked the VCD dealer on the some blockbuster titles and mumbles himself as he walked away. The ex-Setapakian knew Cikgu also got needs and it is okay and he doesn’t need to be pretentious.

Liquid Paper and Joe

Setapak High 1 Comment

Lately I keep refreshing an incident few years back. Or many years back in the first year of my secondary school at Setapak High. Inside my class, I had this classmate of mine by the name of Joe (name has been changed to protect the innocent). Often, he is kind of cool to hang around with. Right now I have no idea his whereabout. The last heard was he been addicted to drugs.

Hence, I wonder if all these time what we did to him were the root caused for him being into such a deep shit. It begins with a innocent intention. He wanted to hang with few friends and I. Most of all, the guys in my class were pretty cool. He wanted to be part of the gang. I wasn’t sure the main deal of it but one fine day, he came to tell us that there is this stationery shop whereby he can shoplift before coming to school.

prod_img_lg_cp

He admitted that he had been stealing few liquid papers. Hence, in order to prove to us we requested him to get it more. Get one each for few of us. He told us that he needed some sort of distraction to distract the cashier lady. Thus our help was really needed. I didn’t turn up when he performed the act. But he did manage to steal unscathed. Not being able to be caught and later of the week, he bring the liquid paper to give it to few of the school kids. I didn’t get any from him.

A year after that, he seems like drifting away from school. Spending more time with the alike and finally, he is out of sight. At times, I do wonder if it was the our friends that encouraged him to took the wrong path of life. Become a wicked and crooked man. *sigh*

As I writing this post, I was wondering if the word liquid paper is an acceptable form of saying correction fluid. Not until I google it and found out the history of it - from the Wiki

Kau. Run. Grab tools

Friends with OMFGWTFBBQ, Setapak High No Comments

It was quite a cliche’ back then in high school. Whenever I saw Kau, it reminds me of the story and the statement others made.

Last time when the outdoor basketball court still exist, which located near to the hostel is where all the dispute and negotiation took place. Often, when there is the need to settle the disagreement, they would set a time to meet up after school at the basketball court.

As the story goes, it happened to be one of typical situation where there’s a mutual agreement need to be achieved at that point of time. Several of my friends were there. They were part of the negotiators to negotiate with the opposition. Sometimes due to the conflict of interest, it was hard to reach the common ground instead it boils and the scene were pretty ugly.

At one point, Pao noticed that there won’t be any conclusion out of it when suddenly, the main person from my friend side was punched in the face. Pao responded with the short command to our tanker (someone who can stand up since he was big in size), “Kau. Run. Grab tools”

kaorun

Our tanker, Kau heard the first 2 words which is “kau. run”. With the blink of an eye, he was fleeing away. The rest was stunned knowing Kau flee on his foot which caused a chain reaction. The rest joined him fleeing from the scene. It concluded that my friend’s team were on the losing end. As Kau was the frontliner, everyone was following him until there’s one breaking point.

othersrun

He was taking a longer path, which is along the corridor towards the main gate. Others was looking at him and decided to use a shorter path. In the end, the rest were in front of him and he was left behind.

The aftermath was that everyone was talking to Kau especially when Pao wanted to counter attack but he fleeing causing the group break loose. Hehehe… Oh well, that’s what studying in Setapak High were all about.

Cheating. Nope. Just Sharing

After doing the tag from AhPek, he just reminds me to pen down all the memories I had in High School. For that matters, I will grow old one day, and totally forgetting about the good old memories with my bunch of friends.

I never really cheated in exam. Minus the SPM time of course, which is totally unrelated matters which will find some time to talk about it. My first cheat which got caught was back in Form 4. It was pretty obvious. That time was cheating in History examination. Back then, the History subject seemed tough with the need to remember names and dates.

Somehow, during the first semester in Form 4 that due to the lack of interest, most of us unable to answer the examination. Out of all the questions, I manage to recalls some of the subjects mainly the socialism and such. Hence with Ivan referring the textbook, and I manage to pen down my answers, we exchanged our answers sheet.

Who knows that not only he copy the entire things without modification, but passed around to few more of my friends. There was a big hoohaa as even the top student also seems lost. He claimed that it was due to the Choral Speaking activities that we slacked. Almost everyone was copying someone during that examination of the History paper.

Now thinking back, it was fun and exciting breaking the rules. Hehe.

When I was a little boy at school

Down Memory Lane, Friends with OMFGWTFBBQ, Setapak High, Understanding Me, Myself 2 Comments

AhPek kindly giving me the honor of the tag of the title above. To write a story how notti I was in school back then. But I so blur that when I read his blog, only poem. I thought I was suppose to blog about any poem. That’s not true. Eventually I have to scout the previous tagger and found out the rules as follows:-

1. Write about one of your naughties moment in secondary school
2. Story must not be shorter than 20000 words. Jk. Just dont make it too brief lah
3. Tag bloggers who you think have really interesting stories to tell. Don’t go “ah i wont tag anyone” .

Walking down the memory lane, I have not much of naughties moment as most of my time I am a goody 2 shoe in school. Nothing much happened as I tried my best to behave myself there.

Since Form 3, my group of friends were one of the noisiest group. There was one time that we been relocated to a old block, with no utilities for that particular year which in Form 4. We remained there until Form 5. The teachers complained that even at the teacher’s lounge they could even heard our voices.

While in Form 3, there were about 6-7 of us whom are particularly sitting in a group. Even when the teacher is teaching we would be discussing or talking among each other. One day while we were chit chatting among each other, suddenly the Malay Language teacher called a friend of mine whom sitting behind me. He was day dreaming, I guess.

The teacher threw him a question from the textbook. “Apakah Komen Anda?” which translated to “what is your comment on this?” Since we were talking and sing song while she was teaching, we all have no idea what to answer. Another friend, Dan being smart whispered “No Comment”. This friend whom was stood up to answer the question replied nonchalantly “No Comment!”. Out of sudden, we all burst into tears laughing out load. We couldn’t imagine that he would gave such answer.

The teacher was at first shocked. She later calmed herself down and proceed with the lecturing of the rest of us. But there are more than what I have mentioned which reminds me of the story of the cheating during exam. :D

Asking me to tag some bloggers? Well, let’s see what this VI boy got to tell. After all, VI boys ain’t saint either. :p
I also wanted to know what would this linpeh do when he was in secondary

Lesson of the Week : Tocheng

Huh?, Setapak High No Comments

LOTW today shall bring you to the word that existed in WTF club. No. WTF does not mean “What The Fuck” or “World Tae Kwan Do Federation”. I didn’t know what does the guy, Roland started this club called WTF. Later he told me that it means “World Tocheng Federation”

Tocheng
Definition : Wank, Masturbate

In fact, the club grew vastly during his time at Setapak High. I do supported him by getting his club T-Shirt.

Pointless Being in Office

Down Memory Lane, Setapak High 1 Comment

I don’t know what am I doing here in the office. The piece of tender resubmission just totally absurd. First of all, I’m wasting my time in office waiting for email. Yeap~! The blardy email from my principal. Sometimes it just pissed me off having such principal to work with. WTF!!

Since I got nothing better to do than just waiting or surfing or working on my report, hence here’s some pictures. Way past back in Jalan Kuantan (2) time.

Looking at it just bring back old memories. Who can guess which 1 am i? Nobody cares huh? Saw sotongking inside as well. We had been friends like for since 1989. Almost 18 years. Imagine that we stick through the tough times in primary and secondary school period. That’s why he is one of my best friends ever I ever had in my life.

And hence the day of Choral Speaking 1998 defeat in Bukit Bintang Girl School (BBGS). I see a lot of handsome/leng chais in the photo. See from our smiles were so vibrant and energetic. That was before we knew of the result. We thought we had the chance to win. Even worthy of mentioned and recognized. But no. Not even slightest recognition given by the judges. Who cares. We proclaim ourselves instead.

Choral Speaking 1998

And every time I saw the picture below, it just brings back the old memories of our dear mr. Kah Hon with the Milo.

Fuiyoh.. Almost 10pm. Time to go back for dinner. Manage to post some pics in friendster coz it’s more appropriate to put it there instead. :D

Youth

Setapak High, Under the Sun No Comments

In dedication to P.T.S

Youth

The young at play are ever so gay,
Oh! I do wish I could join them!
Years, seven times six, please roll away,
So again, I’ll be a maiden.

A maiden so carelessly free and dainty,
is what I want to be;
‘Cause, youth’ll not only bring fun in plenty,
But to undo follies, the key.

So, waste not youth, boys, waste not youth,
And look before you leap;
‘Cause for mistakes made, and time misused,
A life of regret you’ll reap.
